The stats

  • 21.4% of Australians (5.5 million people) live with disability.

  • Only 6.6% of main characters in Australian TV drama were portrayed as having disability.

  • in 2021/22, people with disabilities work in 5.3% of crew roles

  • This represents a gap of 14.8 percentage points between disability prevalence in Australia (21.4%) and disability representation on screen (6.6%).

  • People with disability are represented on screen at less than one-third of their share of the Australian population.

  • Screen Australia describes disability representation as "critically low" compared with population benchmarks.

Shannon Madden

Support Worker / 1st AC (Camera Assistant)

Shannon is a Melbourne-based 1st AC and support worker with a passion for both creative work and staying active. Shannon brings a rich love of storytelling, shaped by his travels and life experiences, along with an easygoing and friendly personality.

Hamish Mcgregor

Support Worker / Director

Hamishis a film, TV and advertising director who has recently shifted his focus toward support work. With a background in Marketing and Journalism and a strong history of community involvement, he brings a patient, compassionate and easygoing approach to his role.
