My Film Crew is a 6 week program brought to you by My Pit Crew (we hope you like the play on words).

Over the last couple of years, we’ve naturally built a team of support workers who are also active in the film industry, including directors, cinematographers, camera operators and more.

We started noticing that a lot of our participants were keen to get into film and learn these kinds of skills. Up until now, that’s mostly happened through casual one on one support sessions.

So, we’ve decided to take things a step further and turn it into something more structured and accessible.

Throughout the 6 week program, you’ll be mentored by support workers who are actively working in the Melbourne film industry.

This includes:

• Hands on filming and editing

• Learning directly from industry professionals

• Day trips to different studios

• A day on set with a real production company

The whole way through, you’ll be supported by an experienced support worker, so you’re building skills with the right guidance.

Right now, we’re just taking expressions of interest.

Depending on what people want, the program could run:

• One on one

• Or in small groups

We’ll shape it based on interest and what works best for participants.
