About Us
Who We Are
My Pit Crew is a Melbourne-based disability support company offering personalised care through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We provide one-on-one support, small group programs, and transport assistance designed to help participants live with greater independence, confidence and connection.
My Pit Crew is one of several companies operating under Safe Transport Australia, a not-for-profit charity committed to improving the lives of people living with disabilities and those experiencing marginalisation. Alongside Shebah and RydSafe, My Pit Crew focuses specifically on providing ongoing support to help individuals with disabilities build independence and navigate life on their own terms.
Our Story
The journey began in 2007, when Peter, a Melbourne father and business owner, became the full-time carer for his wife after she experienced a severe stroke. That experience revealed the many barriers faced by people with high support needs. From limited transport options to a lack of trained support workers, Peter saw how existing systems often failed those who needed help the most.
Motivated to create change, Peter founded Safe Transport Australia in 2012. The organisation was established to advocate for inclusive transport and empower individuals with disabilities to access their communities with dignity and confidence. Today, Safe Transport Australia continues to lead national efforts to support marginalised and disadvantaged groups by improving access to safe transport and personalised assistance.
The Launch of My Pit Crew
In 2020, Safe Transport Australia launched My Pit Crew to expand its mission beyond transport. My Pit Crew was created to provide holistic disability support through the NDIS. The focus is on building genuine relationships between participants and support workers, ensuring that every person receives care tailored to their goals, interests, and personality.
What We Do
Since launching, My Pit Crew has supported more than fifty participants across Melbourne. Our services include assistance with daily living, personal hygiene, emotional wellbeing, social connection, and support to access the community. We also run small group programs that provide a safe and welcoming environment where participants can build skills, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful time outside the home.
Our Team and Values
Today, My Pit Crew operates with a team of over twenty dedicated support workers. As part of Safe Transport Australia, we remain committed to inclusion, respect, and participant-led care.
Our vision has always remained the same. We believe that every person deserves support that empowers them to live life on their own terms. That belief continues to guide everything we do.
