MY
FILM
CREW
An inclusive and accessible filmmaking program.
Led by support workers with real film industry experience.
Welcome!
My Film Crew is designed for and with people living with disability to access real, hands-on experiences in the film industry.
So, let’s dive into the details…
-
My Film Crew is a Melbourne-based supported mentorship program that helps people with disabilities build film-related skills alongside industry professionals.
Our support workers are also active in the film industry, so participants learn through hands-on experience, guided every step of the way by industry professionals.
-
The program is participant-focused, built around flexibility and individual support. Through our connections with production companies, you'll have the opportunity to observe real production roles on a live commercial set. The program incorporates additional days out, including access to editing suites, gear rental houses, and LED volume studios.
Working in with these experiences, you'll also have dedicated sessions focused on mentorship, reflection, and skill development aligned with your goals. After the initial program block there will be an opportunity for ongoing sessions to support your film journey.
-
Right now, we’re just taking expressions of interest.
Depending on what people want, the program could run the following:
One on one
Or in small groups
We’ll shape it based on interest and what works best for participants.

My Film Crew is still in development. While we're only taking expressions of interest at this stage, you can find our service pricing here.
We encourage NDIS participants to consult with their support coordinator or plan manager beforehand to ensure the program aligns with their goals and funding.
“If there had been more positive depictions of people with disability in the media when I acquired my disability as an 11-year-old, I believe I wouldn't have struggled with my self-worth as a disabled person as much.”
— Filmmaker Daniel Monks (Screen Australia 2016, 16)
